Gastroenterologist – Langenthal – Switzerland
Langenthal is a city in the north of Switzerland in the canton of Bern in the Oberaargau region. The city is located about 50 kilometers from Bern and is easily accessible via motorway. The city has about 15.000 inhabitants, most of which are German speaking. The city is also known as the cultural, educational and economic center of the Oberaargau region. The city consists of authentic old architecture. Several buildings in the city such as the old mill and the “Kaufhaus” are protected by the Swiss government. Langenthal is located in a beautiful area near various nature parks in Switzerland such as the Thal Regional Nature Park.
The position is offered by a healthcare institution from the Langenthal region. The employer has three different locations spread throughout the region. Every year, 8.600 inpatients and 49.000 outpatients are seen at this hospital. In addition, approximately 1.300 employees work here and the hospital has 6 operating rooms and 189 inpatient beds. The Gastroenterology department treats the entire spectrum of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
On behalf of this hospital, we are looking for a gastroenterologist for a full-time position. Appointment is for a minimum of 1 year.
The successful candidate is responsible for performing endoscopies and ultrasounds, among other duties. In addition, you will work in both in- and outpatient settings and you will independently perform consultations. You actively contribute to the multidisciplinary consultation and together with the team you will coordinate the correct treatment plan. Lastly, there are on-call commitments.
For this position we are looking for experienced candidates who are able to show initiative, are flexible and work well in a team. Candidates also have good social and communicational skills.
A good knowledge of the German and English language or the willingness to learn this is required. For registration in Switzerland, B2 level is required, although mastery at C1 level is desirable in the clinic.
