General Practitioner – Bay of Plenty – New Zealand
The Bay of Plenty is a coastal area in the north of New Zealand’s North Island with a population of 220.000 people. It stretches from the Coromandel Peninsula in the west to Cape Runaway in the east, a wide stretch of approximately 259 km of open coastline. The Bay of Plenty region is located around this water surface and it also contains several large islands in the bay. It is known for its beautiful beaches, good weather, rich culture and beautiful nature. It is very easy to alternate between city life and beautiful wilderness.
This position is offered by a 30-year-old GP-practice in the village of Kopeopeo. The practice is supported by a committed team consisting of general practitioners, nurses, experienced administration staff and a dedicated practice manager. The practice is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. The practice is closed on weekends. The GP team consists of 5 GPs. 2 of these GPs are from the Netherlands.
On behalf of this general practice, we are looking for a general practitioner for a full-time position. Minimum appointment is for 1 year.
A working week preferably consists of 8 sessions per week; however, the working hours are negotiable with the employer. In this practice, you will treat a diverse patient population and your skills will be tested. You will be supported by an experienced team of general practitioners. As mentioned earlier, 2 out of 5 general practitioners are Dutch nationals, these colleagues can assist you and your family settle in the distant New Zealand.
For this position, the employer is looking for candidates who are fluent in the English language, both in speech and writing. You must also be experienced in GP-medicine and be able to work well in a team.
