General Practitioner – Muri – Switzerland

Location:

The Freiamt region connects Mittelland with central Switzerland. The village of Muri, with approximately 7500 inhabitants, is located in the canton Aargau, close to Zurich (one a half hour drive) and Luzern. The name of the canton originates from the beautiful river Aare. The canton is characterized by mediaeval centres, related museums and numerous castles. In addition, there are famous thermal baths scattered through the canton. For years, the canton has a stable and strong economy due to the flourishing agriculture. Due to the relatively flat, but mildly hilly landscape, there is an infinite amount of beautiful hiking routes in the area.

The hospital offers care to an area of 100 000 inhabitants. There are four operating theatres and an intensive care unit. Annually, care is given to around 8000 inpatients and 40 000 outpatients. The medical family doctor practice is affiliated to the emergency care unit of the hospital since 2012. Annually, care is provided to approximately 20 000 patients.

Function:

On behalf of the above-mentioned hospital, we are looking for a motivated general practitioner for a part-time position of 0,5-0,8 FTE at the general practitioner practice connected to the emergency care unit. Within to this cooperative setting, you will provide primary care on weekdays between 10 and 18 o’clock. In addition, you will take part in the evening and nightshifts together with general practitioners within the region.

You will independently provide care to patients based on a walk-in system. Active cooperation with internal and external partners of the healthcare institution is required for high quality care. The shared responsibility for the training of residents of internal medicine also belongs to your duties. You will ensure accurate invoicing and usage of the internal online information system for the documentation and prescription process.

Attractive employment conditions are offered. Good command of the German and English language is required to register and practice in Switzerland. Although C1 command is preferred in your clinical role, a B2-level suffices for registration.
