Location

Whangarei is the northernmost city in New Zealand and the regional capital of the Northland region. The city has around 55.000 inhabitants and is easily accessible via several highways, an airport and a train station. Most Maoris live in this area of New Zealand. Due to the long presence of these Maoris, the influences of the original New Zealand inhabitants are still particularly strong here. The region is well-known not only from the influences of the Maori but its also called the Sunny Bay of Islands or Winterless North, because of the subtropical climate.

The position is offered by a General Practice in the Northland region. The General Practice has a network throughout the region, this means that they receive patients from Whangarei and the Mid-North areas. They are currently working with different organisations on building a brand new hospital in which there will be a specialised Family Health Care centre.

Job Description

On behalf of this practice, we are currently looking for a General Practitioner, for a part-time or fulltime position for the minimum duration of one year.

This role offers the right candidate a hugely varied and interesting challenge. In addition to the work as a General Practitioner you will contribute to the progress of the specialised Family Healthcare Centre. The General Practice has a population of around 8000 enrolled patients, and offers competitive market rates. They have well-structured training programmes, which offers opportunities to develop your skills. You will be working in a professional and innovative team, this creates the opportunity to be of a significance to the Mid-Northern community.

For this position you must have at least 3 years of working experience. In addition, you must have excellent management, education, communication and leadership skills.
