Oncologist – St. Gallen – Switzerland
Sankt Gallen is the capital of the Swiss canton of St. Gallen. The city is located in the northeastern part of Switzerland, near the German and Austrian borders. The municipality has almost 75.000 inhabitants and is located at an altitude of 650 meters. Here, German is mainly spoken with a dialect characteristic of this region. The city has a UNESCO world heritage building, the Abbey of St. Gallen with a library which contains centuries old books. The city has excellent connections with the rest of the country, Germany and Austria. Furthermore, the city is also the beginning of the Alpenzell Alps where one can ski.
The largest hospital in the canton is located in Sankt Gallen. It has approximately 5.500 employees. The hospital’s breast centre is an independent interdisciplinary facility and provides care to approximately 1.200 breast patients, of which approximately 200 are new breast cancer patients. This centre offers preventive interventions, genetic counselling and early detection among others. Research and innovation play a central role for the employer.
On behalf of the this mamma centre, we are immediately looking for an oncologist for a full-time, permanent position.
Part of the tasks consist of guiding and contributing to the education of medical students, interns and registrars. You will work in a dynamic and challenging environment where you will use your knowledge, skills and experience to treat the patient population. One of the tasks will be to treat breast cancer and gynaecological tumour patients. You will also provide input during second opinion consultations and you will often lead gynaecology and mamma consultations. The employer encourages conducting research.
Preferably, candidates with specialist clinical experience are sought. In addition, candidates must be fluent in the German language in both speech and writing (at a minimum of C2 level) and have an affinity with interdisciplinary cooperation. MMedical offers you, if necessary, support in obtaining the necessary documents and language proficiency. Candidates should also be interested in conducting clinical research.
