The canton of Lucerne, with the capital of the same name, is located in the middle of Switzerland. The district is located at the foot of the Alps. The position is offered by a hospital in the Lucerne region. This hospital provides care to approximately 700.000 people. All medical specialties are treated in this hospital and both secondary and tertiary healthcare is provided. In addition, this hospital serves as a training centre for registrars, interns, medical students and other medical personnel. In addition to being involved in education and training of personnel, this hospital is involved in conducting research, which is why a large number of specialists working at this hospital are involved in various studies both in Switzerland and abroad.
On behalf of this hospital, we are looking for an experienced paediatrician with an eye for clinical leadership for a full-time position.
The successful candidate will be the clinical lead of the children’s clinic. The clinic is the only interdisciplinary emergency centre for children in the region and has several specialist outpatient clinics and a NICU. The successful candidate will work interdisciplinary with a large number of specialists. In particular with paediatric surgeons, nurses and the hospital’s perinatal centre. You will support the perinatal centre in holding highly specialized consultations. One will also work closely with the various hospitals in the region and the paediatricians who refer patients to the clinic. In addition, a significant part of the work tasks will consist of supervising and contributing to the education of not only medical students, interns and registrars, but also other medical staff. Emphasis is placed on teaching the treatment of rare pathology.
Candidates must be fluent in French or German in both speech and writing and have an affinity for interdisciplinary cooperation.
