Pathologist – Aarau – Switzerland
Aarau is the capital of the Canton of Aargau. The city is located at the river de Aare and includes 20 000 inhabitants. Aarau is situated within the Swiss highlands and in the centre of three big cities: Zürich, Basel and Luzern. The historical city centre is known for its beautiful paintings at the gables of the old buildings. The cultural area contains abundance of old architecture, museums, parks and plentiful nature including scenic castles.
On behalf of an employer in Aarau, we are looking for a (dermato)pathologist for a position of 0.7 FTE, with the possibility to later extend to 1.0 FTE. The team is looking for a pathologist preferably specialised in dermatohistopathology or at least have extensive experience in the field.
You will analyse Mohs preparations, frozen sections, but especially paraffin embedded sections (including histochemistry). Currently, only dermatological preparations and sections are analysed (among others; melanocytic naevi, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, biopsies of inflammatory dermatosis). Although this can vary over time and depending on the individual, currently approximately 80 blocks are analysed daily.
The new histologic laboratory includes modern equipment, which provides broad analytic possibilities within the entire spectrum of dermatohistopathology. Within the current committed and professional team, you will contribute to the high quality of analysis and care.
Attractive employment conditions are offered, with an annual salary of at least CHF 250 000 based on 1.0 FTE. This can rise to CHF 500 000 or more, depending on the amount of analyses and quality of work of the pathologist. A proactive attitude within the young, dynamic, quickly growing laboratory will bring a wide range of possibilities.
Good command of the German and English language is required to register and practice in Switzerland. Although C1 command is preferred in your clinical role, a B2-level suffices for registration. MMedical can help you select the right language training centre and will help you with the federal and cantonal professional registration.
