Hawke’s Bay is a region on the North Island of New Zealand. The capital of this region is Napier. This area is known for its sunny, warm climate and its extensive vineyards to match. About 165.000 people live within the care area of the regional care organization. The hospital has 400 beds and provides acute and elective care to the entire region. The hospital in question is modern and contains a wide range of medical, surgical, internist, oncological and radiological disciplines.
On behalf of the above-mentioned healthcare organization in New Zealand, we are currently looking for a pulmonologist with, preferably, a sub-specialty within Sleep Medicine for a full-time position. Minimum appointment is for one year.
As a pulmonologist at this hospital, you will provide clinical care and treat a wide spectrum of lung diseases. You will also strengthen a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the on-call duties. Moreover, one will perform bronchoscopies and part of the duties will be to train registrars and other medical personnel. In addition, you will take clinical leadership of the multidisciplinary team and contribute to the further development and improvement of the care provided in the ward. Together with the aforementioned team, you will treat a challenging patient population and work in a dynamic work environment where your skills will be indispensable. Some of the patients you will treat will come from rural New Zealand.
For this position, candidates must be flexible, enthusiastic and be able to handle stressful situations. Preferably, candidates with leadership experience are sought.
